ROG 20th Anniversary Event

The ASUS ROG 20th Anniversary Celebration brought a full Evil Geniuses VALORANT roster, three competitive zones, a custom keyboard workshop, and a raffle stacked with ROG hardware to the Newegg Gamer Zone last Saturday.

Diamond Bar, CA – May 11, 2026 – This past Saturday, May 9, the Newegg Gamer Zone in Diamond Bar played host to twenty years of Republic of Gamers and to the community that’s spent two decades growing alongside the brand. The ASUS ROG 20th Anniversary Celebration brought together a full Evil Geniuses VALORANT roster, three competitive zones, a custom keyboard workshop with Crayytech, and a raffle stacked with high-end ROG hardware. By the time doors closed at 3:00 p.m., it had been the kind of day this celebration was meant to be.

Twenty years ago this summer, a group of ASUS engineers, themselves gamers and overclockers, kicked off something internally called Project G. The first product to ship out of it was a motherboard called the Crosshair, and the brand it launched was Republic of Gamers. Two decades later, ROG has become one of the defining names in PC gaming.

ROG Product Displays

“Republic of Gamers was founded on the belief that Gamers & Tech Enthusiasts deserve high-performance hardware without compromise, backed by a passionate community that shares the same drive. Twenty years later, that vision continues to push us forward. Partnering with Newegg for this milestone celebration gives us the opportunity to put the latest ROG gear directly into the hands of the community that has supported and grown with the brand over the years. It’s our way of saying thank you for being part of the journey.” – Ernest Cheng, Director of Marketing, ASUS.

On Saturday, that thank-you played out in person with the players who built the community, the gear that defined it, and the kind of energy only an in-person gaming event can generate.

ROG Event Starts

The main event: Evil Geniuses, in person

The headline draw was the Evil Geniuses VALORANT team, who joined the event for fan meet & greets and a “Pro vs. Community” 1v1 main event. Head coach Potter, assistant coach Faded, and players supamen, bao, dgzinPaincakes, and zerona signed autographs, posed for photos with attendees, and took on community challengers in 1v1 matches projected live on the main stage. The floor watched every round. For VALORANT fans who’ve followed EG through VCT Americas, having the full active roster in one room, coaches included, was the kind of moment in-person events make possible and feeds rarely can.

ROG Three Zones

Three zones, hardware on the line

For attendees who wanted to compete for hardware themselves rather than against EG, three challenges ran throughout the day. The Racing Sims Time Attack put GTR simulator setups in front of a live leaderboard, with attendees chasing the best lap of the day for a shot at an XG32UCDS gaming display. The Aim Lab Shooting Range ran 60-second precision tests on high-refresh ROG monitors, with the top score taking home a Harpe Ace II Black. And the Celeste Speed Run rewarded the fastest map clear with a Harpe Ace II Red. A free-play floor with additional ROG rigs ran alongside the competitions for anyone who’d rather just play.

ROG Workshop

A workshop on the keyboards everyone’s been talking about

Between the morning kickoff and the lunch break, Crayytech ran a session on DIY custom keyboard features and ASUS’s competitive advantage in the space, drawing a steady crowd that mixed seasoned keyboard hobbyists with attendees discovering the category for the first time.

ROG Grand Raffle

The Grand Raffle

To enter the day’s biggest prize drop, attendees completed the event-wide Stamp Rally – visiting five activation zones across the Gamer Zone to unlock raffle entries. At 2:45 p.m., the Grand Raffle gave away the kind of haul that justified showing up: a GX601S Helios II White chassis, a ROG STRIX X870E-H Gaming WiFi 7 motherboard, a ROG Ryujin III 360 ARGB Extreme AIO cooler, a ROG Thor 1000P3 Gaming power supply, a ROG Falchion Ace 75 HE keyboard, a GT-BE19000AI Wi-Fi 7 router, and ROG Kithara peripherals.

Beyond the raffle, every attendee walked the floor with ROG 20th Anniversary swag: tote bags, t-shirts, mousepads, and keycap keychains, and a food truck rolled in for the lunch break.

For anyone who couldn’t make it to Diamond Bar, the celebration also extended online: the Newegg x ASUS ROG Deals store ran anniversary pricing across ROG motherboards, monitors, laptops, networking, peripherals, and PSUs.

“Twenty years of ROG is a milestone the entire PC community has helped build, and we wanted to celebrate it the way the community would want, in person, with the games, the gear, and the players that define the culture. Bringing Evil Geniuses, ASUS, and our customers together at our Gamer Zone is exactly the kind of moment that makes the Newegg Gamer Zone what it is.” – Katie Lau, Director of Corporate Marketing, Newegg.

More events at the Newegg Gamer Zone are on the calendar. Keep your eyes peeled.
