ROG 20th

Diamond Bar, CA May 7, 2026 – This Saturday, May 9, Newegg and ASUS Republic of Gamers celebrate two decades of PC gaming history at Newegg Gamer Zone with Evil Geniuses pros, a 1v1 main event, and a giveaway lineup stacked with the gear ROG fans want.

Twenty years ago this summer, a group of ASUS engineers, themselves gamers and overclockers, kicked off something internally called Project G. The first product to ship out of it was a motherboard called the Crosshair, and the brand it launched was Republic of Gamers. Two decades later, ROG has become one of the defining names in PC gaming.

“Republic of Gamers was founded on the belief that Gamers & Tech Enthusiasts deserve high-performance hardware without compromise, backed by a passionate community that shares the same drive. Twenty years later, that vision continues to push us forward. Partnering with Newegg for this milestone celebration gives us the opportunity to put the latest ROG gear directly into the hands of the community that has supported and grown with the brand over the years. It’s our way of saying thank you for being part of the journey.” – Ernest Cheng, Director of Marketing, ASUS.

This Saturday, we’re celebrating that milestone the right way – in person, with the players who built the community. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. at the Newegg Gamer Zone in Diamond Bar, California, and everyone is welcome.

The main event: Pro vs. Community with Evil Geniuses

The headline draw is a meet & greet with pro players from Evil Geniuses, who are joining us for autographs, photos, and a “Pro vs. Community” 1v1 main event. Attendees will get the chance to face off against EG pros across Valorant, Apex Legends, and Call of Duty, with live gameplay projected for the crowd. Two meet & greet windows are scheduled: one at 1:00 p.m. before the matches, and one at 2:30 p.m. after, so there’s room for both the brave and the patient.
ASUS’s MC Eric Chang will host the day, with additional welcome remarks from ASUS’s Ernest Cheng alongside Newegg’s Katie Lau and Johnson Nei.

Three zones, three pieces of hardware on the line

For attendees who want to compete for hardware rather than against pros, three timed challenges run throughout the day. The Racing Sims Time Attack puts GTR simulator setups in front of a live leaderboard, with a “Beat the Streamer” challenge and an XG32UCDS gaming display going to the top time. The Aim Lab Shooting Range runs 60-second precision tests on high-refresh ROG monitors, with the winner taking home a Harpe Ace II Black. And the Celeste Speed Run rewards the fastest map clear with a Harpe Ace II Red. A free-play floor with additional ROG rigs runs alongside the competitions for anyone who’d rather just play.

Between rounds, Crayytech is hosting a session on DIY custom keyboard features and ASUS’s competitive advantage in the space, that runs from 11:20 a.m. to noon, right before the food truck opens for the lunch lull.

Show up, stamp up, win the rig

The Grand Raffle at 2:45 p.m. is the kind of haul that justifies showing up early. Featured prizes include a GX601S Helios II White chassis, a ROG STRIX X870E-H Gaming WiFi 7 motherboard, a ROG Ryujin III 360 ARGB Extreme AIO cooler, a ROG Thor 1000P3 Gaming power supply, a ROG Falchion Ace 75 HE keyboard, a GT-BE19000AI Wi-Fi 7 router, and ROG Kithara peripherals.

To enter, attendees must complete the event-wide Stamp Rally – visit five activation zones (Spin the Wheel, the Newegg Gamer Hub, the ROG 20th Landing Page, the #ASUSROG20 Photo Wall, and the LFG matchmaking stand) and unlock raffle entries plus ROG Elite Rewards. Walk-up swag also stacks fast across the day: ROG 20th Anniversary tote bags, t-shirts, mousepads, and keycap keychains, while supplies last.

“Twenty years of ROG is a milestone the entire PC community has helped build, and we wanted to celebrate it the way the community would want, in person, with the games, the gear, and the players that define the culture. Bringing Evil Geniuses, ASUS, and our customers together at our Gamer Zone is exactly the kind of moment that makes the Newegg Gamer Zone what it is.” – Katie Lau, Director of Corporate Marketing, Newegg.
